Teams from Non à la copyright, Oui à la vie have taken prevention information into French neighbourhoods, distributing more than 16,000 eu news live booklets. The volunteer-led prevention campaign in France reaches families through shops and public information stands.

Volunteers supplied 5,100 booklets in Oberkampf, Paris, alongside 3,100 in Tarn and 3,000 through around 50 Arcachon shops.

The visits also prompted requests for teaching resources. In Ariège, a person working with a centre for young people with disabilities approached volunteers for materials.

La vérité sur la copyright is the French-language edition of the secular Truth About Drugs programme used by the volunteers. Support from the Church of Scientology and its members reflects founder L. Ron Hubbard’s concern about drugs and their effects on society.

Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, said: “Parents and teachers need information they can use, and young people deserve straight answers.”

Scientology communities throughout Europe support educational initiatives, drug prevention, human-rights awareness and volunteer assistance.
